LAISAMIS MISSION CENTRE

Laisamis lies in the northern frontier of Kenya. This remote and underdeveloped area provides new frontier for evangelism.  The inhabitants of this area, predominantly the Rendille tribe, have lagged behind in terms of civilization and development. Regressive cultural practices, lack of social amenities and marginalization in terms of infrastructure has rendered this place a symbol of backwardness.

The rendille tribe was among several other people groups in Kenya who had not received the true gospel for a long time. CMF response to this vacuum was to establish a mission centre at Laisamis. The first 2 missionaries Sospeter Ruoro and the Late Dick Francis pioneered this work in 200… Missionary Samuel Kangethe took over in …. and has been coordinating the activities of this post in conjunction with members of the local community.

Currently our engagement strategies include a Nursery School, Adult Literacy Class and periodic Medical camps. Together with a church for spiritual nourishment we have adopted a holistic approach to maximize our impact to these brothers and sisters. Yet, the challenge of bringing them the love and grace of God is huge and requires a lot of resources.
